Happy St George’s Day

At the weekend Bewdley Concert Band were joined by members of the Isle of Man Wind Orchestra and two local singers, baritone Jonathan Darby and soprano Claire Worboys for the Best of British Bewdley Proms concert at the newly refurbished St George’s Hall in Bewdley.

A full house were entertained by works by Holst and Elgar as well as a pop medley that included Downtown, Ferry across the Mersey and I wanna hold your hand, before moving on to the Dambusters March and proms favourites Fantasia on British Seasongs, Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory and Jerusalem. Fortified by a traditional fish and chip supper, the audience were in fine voice celebrating everything British and I was proud to be a part of it!
